Bayern Munich’s pursuit of Harry Kane could go down to the wire in the summer transfer window but Tottenham are lining up replacements should the England forward leave
Tottenham will contemplate making a move for Nottingham Forest’s Brennan Johnson if Harry Kane is sold.
Bayern Munich want to sign Kane this summer and Thomas Tuchel is working hard to convince the England international, who has one year left on his contract, to make the switch to the Allianz Arena. Kane netted 30 goals for Tottenham last season and finished as the Premier League’s second top scorer behind Erling Haaland (36).
However, Bayern’s proposed move for Kane has hit a stumbling block as there is a £20million gap in valuation for the 30-year-old. Spurs believe Kane is worth at least £100m, despite his age and contractual situation. Bayern are aiming to bring the price below that point and make Kane one of their highest paid players.
In the case Tottenham do lose their star man, new boss Ange Postecoglou has been eyeing up replacements. According to the Daily Mail, Spurs will consider making an offer for Forest forward Johnson, who has been linked with a move away from The City Ground in the summer transfer window.
