Tottenham and NFL announce partnership expansion after sell-out success

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is the only ground outside of the US specifically built to host NFL games – and the new agreement is an extension of a previous 10-year deal

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will play host to two regular season NFL games until 2030 after the club announced an extension to its deal.

With the North London arena currently the only purpose built NFL venue outside of the US, both parties have decided to renew their partnership. The announcement also means Spurs’ £1.2 billion ground will now officially be known as the “Home of NFL” in the UK. The previous deal between the both sides was signed back in 2015 and was set to run for the ten season stretch between 2019 to 2028. Apart from 2020, when the arrangements were cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the stadium has hosted two games per season.

All NFL games at Tottenham have produced sell-out crowds, with 12 of the league’s 32 teams having already played there since October 2019. Following on from that spectacle between the Chicago Bears played and the Oakland Raiders, six games have been hosted there.

The most recent clash, in October 2022, saw the New York Giants beat the Green Bay Packers as a capacity crowd of 61,024 packed the terraces. Previously, NFL games held in the English capital took place at Wembley Stadium, with the first taking place back in 2007.
