Leading travel company, Expedia Group, has revealed the top trends for the next 12 months – including basing destinations on locations seen in movies or TV shows
A leading travel company has revealed the biggest tourism trends for 2023 â including “Set-Jetters”, “Hidden Gems”, “New Wave Wellness”, and “Culture Capitals”.
The Expedia Group, which includes Hotels.com and holiday home rental company Vrbo, has been looking into travel and tourism categories that have seen a surge in popularity in the past year â and seem set to continue over the next 12 months.
The Expedia data shows that almost half (44%) are becoming “Set-Jetters” â basing their travel destinations on somewhere they have seen in a streaming TV show or movie.
In fact, more than a third (37%) have already booked a trip to a location they spotted in a movie or TV show â while 46% have researched travelling to such a destination.
