 The jailed leader of the Russian opposition said he has been played the same speech by Vladimir Putin on a daily basis. Alexei Navalny is currently in a maximum-security prison more than 100 miles outside Moscow serving an 11-year sentence on various charges. The 47-year-old claimed in a Facebook post that prison staff have played him the exact same speech for 100 days in a row now. He said he asked: 'Are you guys nuts? Can't you at least put on different speeches? Putin sure has made plenty of them.' But the prison officer's response was that it is 'a morale-building activity'. Mr Navalny recently revealed he faces being tried for terrorism charges, which carry a life sentence of 30 years. He is an outspoken critic of Putin's and has called the invasion of Ukraine 'stupid', claiming it is 'built on lies'. They have accused prison authorities of failing to provide him with proper medical assistance, using blindingly bright light in his cell. He has filed numerous complaints against the IK-6 penal colony in Melekhovo, where he is imprisoned, but these have been rejected.
