The King’s state visit has seen a man set French hearts aflutter, with one TV news show summarising the sensation in a feature entitled “Qui est l’homme en kilt?”. The heart-throb is Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Thompson, equerry to His Majesty, pictured, who had a similar effect on the British people when he came to prominence last year.
