TikTok unveils text-based posts as Meta launches Threads and Twitter rebrands

TikTok is launching text-based posts Social media app TikTok has announced it will be rolling-out text-based posts. The company says the move will “empower our creators and community” while providing even more ways for its users to interact with each other. It comes just weeks after Meta – the company that runs Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp – released its own micro-blogging text-based platform, Threads. Meanwhile Elon Musk has started rebranding work on Twitter, with the URL X.com now linking to the platform and the bird logo having been replaced with an X.
