A strike by London Underground workers this week will go ahead after last-minute talks to resolve a dispute over pay, jobs and conditions broke down.
The Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union said Tube staff will walk out on Thursday after Transport for London (TfL) refused its offer to suspend industrial action.
It had asked TfL to pause job cuts and detrimental pension changes to give both sides the space to come to an agreement.
RMT general secretary Mick Lynch said: ‘TfL have missed a golden opportunity to make progress in these negotiations and avoid strike action on Thursday.
