A coalition of trade unions and community organisations took part in the “Britain is Broken” protest in central London today
Thousands of people today joined a demonstration calling for a general election amid the worsening cost-of-living crisis.
The “Britain is Broken” protest, which comes amid Mirror’s campaign for a general election, saw a coalition of trade unions and community organisations unite in central London.
It was organised by the People’s Assembly, which said protesters are particularly unhappy about low pay and the repeal of “anti-union” employment laws.
Mick Lynch, the general secretary of the Rail, Maritime and Transport union (RMT), addressed crowds at Trafalgar Square.
