This Morning loses out to The Chase for first time at shock TV Choice Awards

THIS Morning failed to secure its ninth consecutive win for best daytime TV show at tonight’s TV Choice Awards.

The Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield fronted programme was beaten by Bradley Walsh’s The Chase.

It is the first time since the pandemic that the star-studded awards, which showcase what viewers voted for as their favourite shows, have returned in-person and there were hosted by comedian Jo Brand at the London Hilton on Park Lane.

Strictly Come Dancing won best talent show for its 19th series, beating ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent and The Masked Singer and Channel 4’s The Great British Bake Off.

Emmerdale was named best soap and its star Mark Charnock won best soap actor for his moving performance as stroke survivor Marlon Dingle.
