 A shop owner could be in a bit of legal bother after naming his store 'Morrisan'. Aref Ostadali opened his corner shop in Manchester just two weeks ago, and it's already gone viral thanks to its oddly familiar name and yellow colour scheme. The 24-year-old entrepreneur, who has already sold one company, said he 'really loves' Morrisons and hopes they will let him keep the design. As he could only afford a small shop, Aref said he decided to give it a 'big name' to attract more attention. It seems to have paid off as people are flocking to Morrisan to take selfies with the sign in the background. Aref said: 'Everybody has a dream, and I wanted to have a big supermarket. I'm just 24-years-old but I had this dream, so I decided to start from somewhere to try and make that dream work. He added: 'It's been open two weeks and thousands of people have taken photos. They really love taking pictures outside the shop. All the people who pass it will never forget the location.' While it may look very similar, Aref dismissed the suggestion the two shops were identical, and said no one from Morrisons had contacted him so far. He added: 'I hope Morrisons will allow me to keep the name. I have respect for Morrisons. It's a big company. I really love them.' In 2017, the supermarket gave Tyneside shopkeeper Jel Singh Nagra the green light to call his store Morrisinghs. He had got in legal hot water with Sainsbury's when he initially named it Singhsbury's. Morrisons has been approached for comment.
