Triangulation is the politics word for it – Mr Anderson takes some extreme positions then everyone else looks moderate in comparison. But not this time. My other worry is that Labour is quiet. Speaking to staffers, the view is Mr Anderson is so extreme he's not worth engaging with. That the more he's allowed to go on the more he alienates the moderate portion of the electorate. It's also a long-standing problem of the left that there's no snappy response to the sort of soundbite that Mr Anderson comes out with.
