PETER ODEMWINGIE’S failed move from West Brom to QPR is one of the most infamous stories of any transfer deadline day.
The former Nigeria forward, 42, turned up at QPR’s training ground in January 2013 as he looked to seal a last-minute switch to the London outfit.
But a deal was not completed despite Sky Sports filming Odemwingie’s arrival at QPR late in the evening – hours before the window closed.
He later slammed West Brom on social media for “reaching into his pocket”, insisting he still wanted a move away.
Odemwingie ended up joining Cardiff nine months later – where he teamed up with ex-Tottenham defender Steven Caulker.
