The pubs refusing to show the World Cup over Qatar’s human rights record

NEWS… BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT

Dozens of UK pubs and bars are refusing to show any World Cup matches in protest against Qatar’s human rights abuses.

The tournament, which kicks off this Saturday, has been shrouded in controversy ever since the Arab country won the bid to host.

Qatar has laws banning same-sex sexual activity, with those found guilty given lengthy prison sentences or even the death penalty.

More than 6,500 migrants have also died while building seven new stadiums for hundreds of thousands of spectators.
