The Peripheral star confirms author ‘really happy’ with adaptation

The world of William Gibson has finally come to screens this year, with A-list stars Chloë Grace Moretz and Jack Reynor heading up Prime Video’s long-awaited adaptation of his 2014 novel, The Peripheral. (Image: Amazon Prime Video) Neuromancer: Fans have been waiting years for William Gibson’s iconic novels to come to screen (Image: Getty)However, Gibson’s sprawling cyberpunk settings and mind-bending concepts have been notoriously challenging to bring to life, as they would require a big-budget production to pull off correctly.Gary explained: ‘One thing I’ve learned from listening to Jonathan speak about him is that his work is actually really difficult to adapt.’So, I think that’s why a lot of people haven’t approached it, or maybe they’ve attempted it in the past and it hasn’t worked. Now we’ve seen that it works and it can be done it might open up other projects.’I know he’s got a huge following. They might even be discussing it now, maybe.’Express.co.uk also caught up with Gary’s co-star, Jack Reynor, who also championed the author’s 1984 breakout as one he’d like to see being tackled next.’Neuromancer’s obviously the big one,’ he said at The Peripheral’s London premiere.’That’s the holy grail of cyberpunk. I’ve heard there’s one in the works somewhere.’
