On Monday, the One Show returned to screens with presenters Jermaine Jenas and Lauren Laverne. However, as they welcomed climate activist Greta Thunberg, many viewers took to social media with fury. The 19-year-old Swedish activist joined the One Show to discuss her new book, The Climate Book, an essential handbook which is also authored by geophysicists, oceanographers and meteorologists.Greta opened up about her early days of campaigning, which started at home with her parents. She shared: ‘When your like 8, there’s not much you can do to make a big difference, so then you start small. ‘I started with turning off the lights at home to save energy and that led to other things, which led to another thing and eventually I stopped flying, I became vegan and got my parents to do that too.’READ MORE: Prince Harry memoir torn apart by Steph McGovern The One Show was met with backlash from some viewers (Image: BBC) The One Show: Greta Thunberg appeared to discuss her new book, The Climate Book (Image: BBC) The One Show: Greta Thunberg opened up about her activism (Image: BBC) The One Show: Sir Tony Robinson also praised Greta Thunberg (Image: BBC)@GerryNeill6 tweeted: ‘Does Greta Thunberg not realise Putin is gonna blow the whole world up?
