 A TV show has been honoured with two Emmy Award nominations but is – literally – nowhere to be seen. The nominees for the prestigious television gongs were unveiled on Wednesday, with Succession coming out on top with a total of 27 nods, followed by Pedro Pascal drama The Last Of Us. Musical drama Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies was also among the programmes singled out for excellence by the body, earning two nominations. But while the series, a prequel of the 1978 original film starring the late Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta, could win twice for outstanding choreography for scripted programming, it's no longer available on original home Paramount Plus – or any other streamer for that matter. In a further blow to fans of the series, Paramount cancelled Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies after season one in a move to 'refine its content offering' after merging with Showtime. It has been reported Paramount is shopping season one of the Grease revival, as well as its rights, to other streamers and broadcasters, so fingers crossed it gets snapped up soon – and its purchaser whips up a second season. But standing in their way to be taken seriously are their classmates, teachers and parents, who each have their own ideas on how the young women should be behaving.
