Jay-Z and Alicia Keys were right: there’s nothin’ you can’t do now you’re in New York. From Segway excursions and helitours to Harlem jazz crawls and guided walks around Brooklyn’s top bagel joints, the Big Apple is full of weird and wonderful ways to explore. However, if you’re looking for a welcome time out from the concrete jungle this summer, nothing beats kayaking on the Hudson River.
The tours are run by Manhattan Kayak Co, which offers trips for all abilities. One of its most intriguing is the After Dark Tour. Last summer I headed down to Pier 84 to see the city that never sleeps by night.
