The Telegraph Fantasy Football World Cup player list is full of superstars and lesser known talents, but who are the most selected players?
After the first weekend of Telegraph Fantasy Football World Cup 2022 being open for business it’s really interesting to see the early trends in players being picked by managers.
It is no surprise to see the Belgian superstar Kevin De Bruyne topping the charts, especially with his prowess and legacy as a no-brainer in the Premier League version of TFF, but who would have predicted he would be 19% clear of his closest competitor?
No real surprises in behind besides maybe Phil Foden and Kieran Trippier who are no guaranteed starts for Gareth Southgate. Angel Di Maria may also raise some eyebrows as he is just 3 months away from turning 35 and well into the latter stages of his career.
Maybe more surprising is the list of players missing from the top 10. Not a single Brazilian player features including Neymar, Vinicius Junior, Allison and Ederson; this will partly be due to their incredible depth, but also as they play so late on in each round they’ll no doubt be transferred in once the tournament commences.
