Rishi Sunak is facing a humiliating triple defeat next week in three by-elections which could fuel major doubts about him leading the Conservatives into the next election. The latest weekly tracker poll by Techne UK reveals that Labour has a 20 point lead while the Lib Dems are gaining support as well. If this were to play out in a general election then the Electoral Calculus prediction website suggested the Tories would be left with just 100 seats while Labour would have a 300 seat majority. The polling does not bode well for the Conservatives who are trying to hold on to three of their seats which are involved in by-elections this week. Their best hope remains Uxbridge and South Ruislip where Boris Johnson stood down ahead of the Privileges Committee report into whether he lied to Parliament over Partygate being published. But last night neither Tory candidate Steve Tuckwell or Labour’s Danny Beales turned up for a hustings. Conservative MPs who campaigned in the Yorkshire seat of Selby and Ainsty vacated by Johnson’s close ally Nigel Adams have told Express.co.uk that they are “finding very little support for us on the doorsteps” in a constituency which had a majority of more than 20,000 at the last election. Meanwhile, the Lib Dems are the favourites to win Somerton and Froome in Somerset vacated by David Warburton who had been facing misconduct allegations. The Techne poll puts Labour on 46 percent (down 1), the Tories unchanged on 26 percent while the Lib Dems have gained a point to 11 percent. The Conservatives could be left with 100 seats (Image: ELECTORAL CALCULUS) Reform UK stay on 6 percent and the Greens are unchanged on 5 percent. Michela Morizzo, chief executive of Techne UK, said: “Another week full of difficult Trade Union negotiations for Rishi Sunak and his Conservative Government. “Whilst some progress on pay settlements have been made across certain sectors today junior doctors came out once again to say the Government’s offer was not enough, and they will reject the offer and continue to strike. “Sunak has of course been at the NATO summit this week in Vilnius and such global meetings always give a little polling bounce – still not enough however at the moment, to improve what remains a very significant Labour lead!” While the gap between the Conservatives and Labour closed narrowly this week there was worse news contained in the data. For the first time in several months Labour leads in all age categories, including pensioners where the Tories had held a narrow lead. This week 65 and overs favour Labour by 38 percent to 34 percent. Meanwhile, of those who intend to vote the Conservatives only have the support of six in 10 (60 percent) of their voters from 2019 and when you count those who will not vote they have less than half (48 percent) their supporters from the last election.
