Student nurse in disbelief after she bags family holiday to Spain for just £2.42

Emily Orchard, from St Helens, will be heading off to the 5-star Lopesan Baobab Resort in Gran Canaria, Spain having won Jet2’s Bid for a Break with a £2.42 bid

A student nurse won herself a week long holiday in Gran Canaria for just £2.42.

Emily Orchard, from St Helens, has successfully ‘Bid for a Break’ with Jet2holidays to secure a seven-night holiday to on the sun-drenched island for less than price of a Tesco meal deal. The student nurse placed a bid for £2.42 for a 5* Gran Canaria holiday for four – and as hers was the lowest unique amount, she and her family won the getaway.

Emily said: “I entered Bid for a Break as my friend told me about it, but I never thought I would actually win. Wow – I’m still waiting for someone to tell me I’ve got it wrong. I chose my winning bid by just looking at the time, which was 2:42pm. Thank you so much to the Jet2holidays team – this is a fantastic competition and I guess it really can be won by anyone.”

The budget holiday firm launched the competition in 2021 and brought it back in September this year. Where previously just one holiday a week was auctioned off, now Brits after holiday deals have six chances to win one every seven days.
