STRICTLY Come Dancing’s ratings are on the rise with the new series attracting a peak in excess of 7.2million viewers.
The bumper audience is thought to have been lured by the prospect of fireworks between actress Amanda Abbington and her pro partner Giovanni Pernice.
The figures are sure to surge further as fans who missed Saturday night’s BBC1 show catch up with the action on iPlayer.
And an electric paso doble from Casualty actor Nigel Harman and show siren Katya Jones – which shot them to the top of the leaderboard – was sure to have people calling it up for a second look.
The glittering dance show’s boost comes after a dip last year as Brits emerged from the end of Covid lockdowns.
