Strictly Come Dancing star dealt a huge blow ahead of show’s launch

Strictly Come Dancing contestant Jody Cundy’s fortunes are not looking favourable ahead of the BBC show’s launch this weekend

Strictly Come Dancing contestant Jody Cundy has been dealt a huge blow ahead of the show’s launch.

The Paralympic cyclist and former Paralympic swimmer is set to take to the BBC dancefloor on Saturday night. He is used to competitions having competed in multiple World Championships, winning 23 world titles. Jody will be wanting to add the Glitterball Trophy to his eight Gold, one Silver and three Bronze medals. However, the Great Britain star’s chances have taken a dip.

The 44-year-old has been dealt a blow thanks to the latest winning odds. Ladbrokes have placed Jody as 50/1 to win the popular dance show. He is their least likely to win by far, as news reader Krishnan Guru-Murthy has been placed at 40/1. Topping the list is EastEnders star Bobby Brazier, who has a 7/2 chance of winning.

Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes said: “With Strictly back on our screens this weekend, betting is really starting to hot up. Bobby Brazier has emerged as the most popular celebrity in the line-up and he is now the one they all must beat as far as the odds are concerned.” He is closely followed by once favourite TV presenter Angela Scanlon at 5/1.
