Strictly Come Dancing 2023 line-up confirmed as first contestant announced

Strictly Come Dancing 2023 line-up confirmed as first contestant announced (Image: GETTY) Strictly Come Dancing is nearly here with the BBC confirming this year’s line-up over the next few weeks – and the first three celebrities will be announced tonight on The One Show. 15 new celebrities will be taking to the dance floor in the hope of replicating Hamza Yassin’s success last year. This year makes the 21st series of Strictly and the glitzy launch show will be filmed in September with the celebrities learning who will be their professional partner. All of the professional dancers will be returning to the 2023 series as are judges Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Anton du Beke and Motsi Mabuse. However, Rylan Clark has stepped down as host of Strictly: It Takes Two and has been replaced by Fleur East. As speculation mounts over who could join this year’s line-up, the bookies have revealed who they think will be taking to the dance floor. Bookmakers Ladbrokes have West End star Layton Williams odds-on at 1/3 for a spot on the show. Elsewhere, former EastEnders star, Nigel Harman, is 6/4 to take to the dancefloor, while Andrew Ridgeley is 2/1. Unlikely outsiders include Jill Scott (10/1) and Nicola Sturgeon (16/1). Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Strictly chiefs are eyeing up yet another stellar line-up and the latest odds suggest a handful of A-listers will soon be taking to the dancefloor. “Layton Williams looks nailed on for a spot in the next series, and if he is going to make an appearance, we expect he’d take some beating.” Strictly Come Dancing is set to air on BBC One later this year.
