Steve Martin forced to postpone ‘sold out’ shows after Covid outbreak

Steve Martin, who is currently in the middle of his North American tour with Martin Short, has cancelled their Friday and Saturday shows in Wynn Las Vegas. The 78-year-old gave fans just two days’ warning as he announced the devastating news over X, formerly known as Twitter. While the comedian cited Covid-19 as the reason behind the postponement, he kept the details vague saying an outbreak of the highly contagious illness had ravaged the show’s crew as well as one essential member, although it’s unclear whether he or his co-star Martin Short have fallen ill. The Only Murders In The Building star shared the announcement with both his ‘fans and enemies’, in classic Steve Martin fashion. He wrote: ‘Unfortunately, our sold-out shows at the Wynn in Las Vegas this Friday and Saturday have to be postponed because of rampant Covid in our crew and one other essential guy.’ For all the latest on news, politics, sports, and showbiz from the USA, go to Daily Express US.
