The celebrated actor, best known for his roles in Snatch and Gangs of New York, lent his support to his young co-star following his mother’s death from cancer. Graham and director Shane Meadows were ready to take the young child actor under their wing if things didn’t work out with Thomas’ father. Speaking about the offer on the Private Parts podcast , Thomas recalled: “My mum passed away from lung cancer after I finished filming This Is England. “She never got to see the finished film.” Thomas Turgoose invited many of his castmates to his wedding in 2018 (Image: INSTAGRAM) He continued: “When my mum died I moved in with my dad and I didn’t know him, so Shane Meadows and Steven Graham were going to adopt me if things didn’t work out with my dad.” Thomas was just a young 13-year old boy when he played the role of Shaun Fields.
