Starmer more trusted than Sunak to deliver on PM’s own priorities

Labour leader is seen as better placed to deal with four out of his Tory counterpart’s five key pledges, poll shows

Sir Keir Starmer is more trusted by voters than Rishi Sunak to deliver on four of the Prime Minister’s own five priorities, new opinion polling has found.

The Labour leader beat his Tory opponent when it came to who was best placed to halve inflation, grow the economy, reduce the national debt, and cut NHS waiting lists.

Mr Sunak only scored better than Sir Keir on stopping small boats carrying migrants crossing the Channel.

The findings come from a poll of 1,500 adults conducted by Redfield & Wilton Strategies.
