Starfield review — the galaxy is your oyster in this epic sci-fi adventure

★★★★☆Hype has infiltrated every particle of Starfield since its announcement in 2018. After all it marks the first game set in a new universe for Bethesda Game Studios – the developer behind behemoth role-playing games such as Skyrim and Fallout 4 – for more than 25 years. On the one hand it’s a sprawling space epic and a glossy tribute to decades of science fiction, ranging from 2001: A Space Odyssey to Star Wars and Blade Runner. On the other it’s more like “to infinity and not quite beyond”, as nagging flaws prevent it from entirely reaching the stars.
