Coronation Street is adding a new cast member in the form of Line of Duty star Darren Morfitt – who is set to bring drama to the cobbles.
The 49-year-old actor played Sergeant Colin Brackley in season one of the BBC cop drama back in 2012 – with tense scenes showing the copper accidentally shooting dead an innocent man.
But his character on the long-running ITV show will be unleashing plot bombs of a different type – and will be linked to Stu Carpenters family.
Darren is set to play Dom Everett who, it will be revealed, is the biological father of Eliza – Stu’s 11-year-old granddaughter.
