Spy chiefs tell ministers ‘stop using your phones’ after Liz Truss hack

Spy chiefs have ordered ministers to stop using their personal phones for government business after Liz Truss’s phone was reportedly hacked by Russia.

Government officials have been told to never use their personal mobile phones for confidential calls as they are likely to be targeted by hackers from hostile states such as Russia, North Korea and Iran.

A Whitehall source claims all MPs involved in national security have been ordered to attend fresh training with security services this week following reports of multiple breaches from current and former cabinet members.

The source claims the training is ‘to ensure everyone is aware how this material should be handled.’

The news comes following a bombshell report in yesterday’s Mail on Sunday which claimed Liz Truss’s mobile phone had been targeted by Russian hackers during her time as foreign secretary.
