Gunshots rang out at the Guaranteed Rate Field as Vanilla Ice prepared to come on stage at Sox Park in Chicago following a match between the White Sox and Oakland Athletics
Three women were shot before a Vanilla Ice concert in front of horrified crowds at Chicago’s Guaranteed Rate Field, where the White Sox played earlier that evening. Audio from a police scanner confirmed that the incident took place in section 162 of the stands.
The “Ice Ice Baby” hitmaker’s concert was cancelled amid technical difficulties and the shots fired, reported NBC 5 Chicago.
Police scanner audio seems to confirm that there were three female victims, one of whom was grazed in the chest. The audio contains authorities saying repeatedly that there was a lot of blood.
“There’s blood in section 162 of the White Sox stadium park,” an officer on the scanner announces before clarifying that the authorities are “still working on getting all the details.”
