A software engineer was stabbed to death by a 14-year-old boy after getting into a row with a group of youngsters messing about in ASDA toilets, a court heard.
Ian Kirwan, 53, was kicked by a 13-year-old, knifed in the heart and died before reaching hospital, jurors were told.
Five youngsters aged 13 to 15 at the time of Mr Kirwan’s death – are on trial at Birmingham Crown Court.
Prosecutor Benjamin Aina KC told the court the 14-year-old who delivered the killer strike is claiming diminished responsibility.
