SIR JIM RATCLIFFE has given a rare update on his hopes of taking over Manchester United and has admitted that losing would be “too excruciating”.
The British businessman has been in a battle with Sheikh Jassim over who can purchase the Manchester club off the Glazer family.
Ratcliffe seems to determined to be the winner in the race to acquire the Premier League club and not least because he doesn’t like losing.
Speaking in a video marking his company INEOS’ 25th anniversary, Ratcliffe has admitted losing out on purchasing United would be “excruciating”.
He said: “You can’t really contemplate acquiring a brand like Manchester United and failing because the failure is just far too public and too excruciating.”
