Revenge for Warriors after that desperately disappointing performance and result away to the same opposition in round one of this United Rugby Championship campaign, and head coach Franco Smith will be particularly happy that the result was so convincing despite his Scotland contingent being unavailable this week.

Benetton offered very little. In truth, Warriors could and should have won by an even bigger margin because they left several scores out there, but we should not be too churlish. This was a mish-mash home line-up containing several new faces including the debutants Alex Samuel and Euan Ferrie – who both showed up well – and they were in complete control from first minute to last.
