Ahead of her funeral, 30ft-tall white letters which spell out ‘ÉIRE SINÉAD’ alongide a heart, have been placed on a hillside in the Irish seaside town. Just weeks before she died, the musician gave her fans a brief tour of her new apartment. After showing her living room and kitchen, she also revealed she had been working on new music using her Johnny Cash guitar. Sinead was initially due to perform gigs in 2022 but cancelled them due to the death of her son Shane. The 17-year-old was reported missing before he was found dead in January 2022. One of the singer’s final tweets was a tribute to her late son 18 months on from the tragedy. She told fans she had been “living like an undead night creature” since he passed and gushed over their “unconditional” love. The teenager was her second youngest of four children.
