Silent Hill: Ascension footage leaks and nobody seems to like it

New footage of the Silent Hill game by J. J. Abrams and the makers of Dead By Daylight has not gone down well with most fans.

In October it’ll be a year since Konami announced their bewildering array of new Silent Hill games and we’ve learnt very little about any of them since then. However, new footage from one of the games was shown at the San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend and while it’s not been officially released, it has been leaked – to a less than rapturous reception.

If you’ve forgotten which one Ascension is (which is entirely understandable) it’s the ‘massively interactive live event’ by the makers of Dead By Daylight and J. J. Abrams’ video game company. In other words, the one that already sounded like a bad idea before it even started.

Now that seems to have been confirmed, with fans complaining that the tone of the secret footage is all wrong and that it doesn’t have the psychological depth or subtlety of the older games.

To be honest, it’s hard to tell because the footage seems to be just a cut scene, with no obvious gameplay elements. Although Ascension is not a traditional game and is played in conjunction with other people as a live event, a bit like Twitch Plays Pokemon.
