Mike Portsmouth, 55, and wife Nicki Portsmouth 55, were visiting family in Westward Ho!, Devon, when they spotted the orange and blue building. Facilities services manager Mike took a few snaps and posted them on a local Facebook group asking residents when the new B&M would be opening. The post was inundated with comments from excited locals saying they couldn't wait for the new bargain store to open. Other residents thanked Mike for pointing it out as they said they'd been wondering what the artwork had been reminding them of. Mike, from Harlow, Essex, said: "We laughed when we saw it. We said it looked like B&M. I posted it on the group and cheekily asked when it was opening. There are a lot of colourfully painted houses there but it's odd colours. They may be trying to mimic the sunset but it's B&M. "Apparently, the lady who lives there has a good sense of humour so she may have done it on purpose. We go to Westward Ho! every year. I've been going since I was 18 so I saw the house before it was painted and it was a normal colour. It's only been there for two or three weeks. "The houses there are painted in vibrant colours. Some people compare the street to Balamory. It's a nice thing. It's a seaside holiday village with pretty colours so the owners are joining in and if they make it a talking point and bring some trade to the town then it's a good thing." Mike and Nicki had been celebrating their 27th anniversary in the seaside village and say they couldn't stop laughing when they spotted the brightly coloured house.
