He later explained to Australia's 9News: "I have been through a very difficult ordeal at sea. "I'm just needing rest and good food because I have been alone at sea a long time. The sailor, from Sydney, set off on the huge trip before being hit by stormy weather two weeks later. The watercraft's electronics were damaged, leaving him drifting in the ocean unable to call for help.
