Police were called to a home in Seattle’s Wallingford neighbourhood with reports of a shooting and arrived to find the home engulfed in flames with the bodies of two adults, an infant, a child and a dog all discovered
Two adults and two children are dead after an early morning shooting and house fire.
Police were called to the home in Seattle’s Wallingford neighbourhood at around 8.41am after receiving reports of a shooting. The call was made by an 11-year-old and fire crews were sent to the same address at 8.45am for a house fire.
Seattle Police Department Chief Adrian Diaz said officers were responding to a homicide call when they arrived to find the house engulfed in flames. Firefighters on the scene reported flames visible from the front door, which had reportedly been barricaded.
By 9.39am the exterior fire was under control, according to the Seattle Fire Department. Fire crews worked with police to come up with a way to safely enter the home so both the fire and shooting can be investigated.
