The tournament is being hosted by France for the first time since 2007. Fabien Galthie’s side kick things off with a blockbuster opening-night clash against New Zealand in Paris on Friday, September 8. The final takes place at the same Stade de France venue on Saturday, October 28.
Scotland have been drawn in pool B, where their opponents include Ireland and South Africa, the world’s number one and two ranked teams respectively, as well as Tonga and Romania.
Gregor Townsend’s men begin their campaign against the Springboks, the defending champions, at the Stade Velodrome in Marseille on Sunday, September 10 (kick-off 4.45pm UK time). They then have a two-week build-up to facing the Tongans in Nice on Sunday, September 24 (kick-off 4.45pm UK time).
