Schoolgirl wins role in Hollywood movie alongside Stephen Fry

Sarah Bowen made a marble run in a competition for The Inventor and is now appears as a character in the film

A Dublin teenager is starring in a Hollywood movie – as a puppet.

Sarah Bowen was 13 when she entered a children’s competition in 2020 where the prize was to become a character in an animated feature film based on artist and inventor Leonardo da Vinci.

She will now be seen as a puppet character in the Universal Pictures movie about the Renaissance artistic genius, scientist and engineer who conceived a helicopter, a tank and a parachute among other incredible contraptions, hundreds of years before they were actually made.

Leonardo is voiced by Stephen Fry. The star-studded cast includes Star Wars actress Daisy Ridley and Marion Cotillard, who won an Oscar for her portrayal of  Edith Piaf, the French chanteuse, in La Vie En Rose.
