Schoolgirl, 12, ‘put in isolation’ for wearing £12 skirt from Asda

NEWS… BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT

A 12-year-old girl was ‘left in tears’ after she was banned from lessons for wearing a skirt from Asda.

Lilly, from Hull, said staff members at Holderness Academy checked students’ uniforms to make sure they were bought exclusively from the school’s official provider.

But staff members found Lilly was waring a £7 pleated skirt from Asda rather than the £17.99 mandatory version – so she was sent to learn in isolation.

Lilly’s mum Katie told Hull Live: ‘We originally did try to get her the right skirt but Lilly is tiny, it kept falling off her. The skirts are between £17.99 and £21.99 each from Rawcliffes, but we managed to find black pleated skirts from Asda, which cost £7 for two.
