Mason Greenwood won’t be moving to the Saudi Pro League (Image: GETTY) Saudi Pro League clubs have ruled out the signing of Manchester United exile Mason Greenwood , according to reports. Teams have also pulled out of the running due to fears of backlash from their supporters. United announced last week that Greenwood would not continue his career at Old Trafford. The Red Devils have been working with the forward in an attempt to find him a move elsewhere. United concluded their internal investigation into Greenwood in August. The 21-year-old had all charges of attempted rape, coercive behaviour and assault against him dropped in February. There were initial plans for Greenwood to be reintegrated back into the United squad. However, fans expressed their opposition and the decision was reversed. But there hasn’t been an abundance of offers for him as of yet. The majority of European transfer windows shut on Friday which will limit Greenwood’s options. Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad are trying to sign Mohamed Salah (Image: GETTY) The Saudi Pro League window does not shut until next Thursday. However, the Manchester Evening News says Saudi officials have indicated that they will not make a move for Greenwood. That comes after the news that Liverpool have rejected an offer of up to £150million for Mohamed Salah. Saudi side Al-Ittihad are desperate to sign the Egypt international and could return with a new offer in the region of £200m. Liverpool won’t be able to bring in a replacement for their talismanic forward once the Premier League window shuts at 11pm. Al-Ittihad still have six days where they could attempt to lure Salah away from Anfield. While Salah looks set to be staying put for now, Greenwood’s future is less certain. Turkish side Besiktas were linked with a move earlier in the week.
