Sales of men’s Y-fronts & boxers are soaring

SALES of underpants are soaring, a study has found – while knickers have hit the skids.

Analysts rummaged through Brits’ spending habits and found that among all men, sales of Y-fronts and boxers rose 40 per cent year-on-year.

However knickers have dropped, with a 37 per cent fall according to MoneySuperMarket’s Household Money Index.

The UK underwear market is worth around £170million a year, with fellas owning an average of ten to 15 pairs of grundies, while women have up to 35 knickers.

Craig Earnshaw, 33, of Ely, Cambs, said he bought ten new pairs this summer for the first time in five years.
