Barbie fans get to watch their favourite doll venture out from Barbie Land into the real world, with Ken tagging along for all the chaos that is bound to ensue. There's no denying that Ryan has been chanelling his Kenergy good and proper throughout filming and promo for the movie, making him the perfect man to play Ken. However, he's admitted his children actually have 'no use' for Ken at home. His kids weren't too fussed about his casting (Picture: Jaap Buitendijk) Speaking to People, the actor said Amada, seven, and Esmeralda, eight – who Ryan shares with long-time partner Eva Mendes – were 'confused' by why he wanted to play Ken. 'My kids were my introduction to [Barbie],' the 42-year-old began. 'I think they're confused as to why I would want to play Ken. 'They have no use for Ken.' But, his little ones had his back all the way and even helped Ryan prepare for a big scene. 'My kids were around for the months at home, as I was prepping for it,' he added. 'So they, inadvertently, were prepping for it too. 'And they came to set that day and were a huge sense of support and doing it with me off-camera.'
