While some pro-Vladimir Putin commentators have blamed Ukraine or Western “provocation” for the missile that struck NATO member Poland, others have hoped that Vladimir Putin ordered the attack
Russian sources today mocked Western claims that a Kremlin missile hit Poland, killing two people, but some pundits wished it was a Putin attack.
A concerted campaign to deny responsibility followed an initial reaction of pro-war analyst Sergey Mardan, of Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper, who posted “Finally” in approval that a NATO country was struck.
He said: “According to the Polish side, during today’s rocket attacks on Ukraine, two rockets fell in the Lublin Voivodeship, resulting in the death of two people. Poland is a NATO country. Finally!”
But other pro-Vladimir Putin commentators blamed Ukraine or a Western “provocation” for the incident.
