Russia adopts new double strategy as Putin struggles to ‘continue…..

The new head of the Institute for Peacekeeping and Conflict Management claimed that the Russian military was currently not in a good position to continue attacks in Ukraine on the ground. Mr Feichtinger explained that Russia had now adopted a double strategy. The German Brigadier claimed that their two-part strategy was to defend and control territory they had already gained, and the second was to put pressure on Ukraine with the use of weapons via the sky.Mr Feichtinger told DW News: “The Russian side is not really in a position to continue their attacks on the ground.”So they have a double strategy nowadays, the first part of it is to defend and to control the territory they have already conquered.”And the second part is to put the rest of Ukraine under permanent pressure by sending them cruise missiles, rockets and drones and so on.”So keep them away with the one part, and consolidate the territory you have already, is the other part on the Russian side.JUST IN: Braverman faces backlash after asking staffer to ‘delete and ignore’ sensitive email Walter Feichtinger (Image: DW News) Ukraine conflict (Image: Getty)Mr Feichtinger added: “On the Ukrainian side I see a strong attempt to achieve more on the ground.”So we have attacks in the North and the East of Kharkiv, to Luhansk Oblast, and in the South of Kherson.”Because the Russian side has still a strong bridge on the Western part of the Dnipro river, and that is what is under attack by the Ukrainian side.”And there is very important not to freeze the conflict,  from their understanding, but to gain momentum and continue their attacks.”READ MORE: UK weather: Met Office issues yellow flood warning as Brits brace for heavy rainPutin has been ramping up attacks on Ukraine in recent weeks in order to try and gain victory.Putin has been using Irainin drones on Ukraine’s infrastructure and civilian territories.Ukraine’s military intelligence has reported that Putin has stacked up to 40,000 Russian troops on the western part of the Dnipro river in Kherson. And there is no escape for these Russian soldiers and the troops could be wiped out soon, a former US General has claimed.DON’T MISS: The Crown to show ‘tampongate’ scandal between Charles and Camilla ‘sympathetically'[INSIGHT]’We went to 54 states!’ Gaffe-prone Joe Biden makes another blunder on campaign trail [REVEAL]Lula vows to unite Brazil and stamp out deforestation as world leaders congratulate him [SPOTLIGHT] Ukraine conflict (Image: Getty)Lieutenant General Mark Hertling told CNN: “Russia is basically stacking their defences with new mobilised recruits.”But again, those recruits are absolutely untrained, terrible and joining units with low morale.”So, what we’re seeing really is Russia feeding more meat to a meat grinder.”And Ukraine will have increased challenges with countering those kinds of larger units because after all, quantity has a quality all of its own.”READ NEXT’Deeply unhappy’ Tory MPs drafting letters of no confidence after Sunak’s Cabinet purgeFurious woman explodes at eco mob blocking her sick child as police say ‘do NOT intervene’Activist interrupts climate change debate as he jumps on table and glues himself to deskHS2 investment could face review ahead of autumn statement, Gove suggestsAppeal for ‘fair system’ as 1,000 migrants arrive in UK in a SINGLE day
