Runrig lead singer Bruce Guthro dies aged 62

Bruce Guthro, the lead singer of Scottish rock band Runrig, has died two months after he revealed he had been forced to cancel live performances after battling illness.

The Canadian singer-songwriter, 62, died on Tuesday night after a long battle with cancer.

Guthro was from Nova Scotia and was recruited to Runrig in 1998 as the lead vocalist after Donnie Munro left the band and remained the frontman until their final performances in 2018.

His music career spanned more than four decades and included work from his time as a solo artist.
