Rosh Hashanah 2023: End date of Jewish New Year and when is Yom Kippur?

NEWS… BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT

Members of the Jewish community across the world are due to celebrate Rosh Hashanah – the Jewish New Year – from sundown on September 15.

Rosh Hashanah commemorates the creation of the world and marks the beginning of the Days of Awe, a 10-day period of repentance which ends with Yom Kippur, also known as the Day of Atonement.

As well as being a time for celebration and hope for the year ahead, it’s also a time to reflect on the past year and atone for any wrongdoings, in order to start the new year with a clean slate.

When does Rosh Hashanah end and when does Yom Kippur take place?
