Rooney’s stance on public Ronaldo dispute after ‘not my friends’ claim

Ronaldo took aim at former Manchester United team-mate Rooney in his bombshell interview with Piers Morgan after the D.C. United head coach criticised his behaviour this season

Wayne Rooney will reportedly refuse to make a public statement on his dispute with Cristiano Ronaldo after being blasted by the Portuguese superstar.

Ronaldo has given a bombshell interview to Piers Morgan, with Rooney one of the targets of his pointed remarks. The 37-year-old has been left furious by Rooney’s criticism of him this season, despite the fact the duo used to be team-mates at Manchester United.

Their relationship appears to be over following Ronaldo’s attack on the D.C. United head coach. But while he has thrown their dispute into the open, Rooney himself appears to be unlikely to make any public comment on the issue.

That is according to Sky Sports News, who report that he has decided not to speak out about Ronaldo’s attack on him. Instead, he has been left ‘bemused’ by Ronaldo’s criticism of him.
