But on Wednesday morning, cops in Catoosa, Oklahoma, were informed of a car that matched the licence plate and the description of the missing couple's car. The suspect's car attempted to drive away during a traffic stop and crashed, before going up in flames. As officers approached the car, it is believed they heard two gunshots and discovered a woman in the passenger seat with a gunshot wound. She was taken to hospital in a critical condition but later died. The man was found in the driver's seat dead following the gunshot wound. An investigation into the double death is underway but cops believe the motive behind the fatal shootings is clear. Deputy Chief Chris Burne of the Romeoville Police Department said during a press conference on Tuesday that after collecting a "tremendous amount of physical evidence," the department was "able to determine that this was not a random incident." According to devastated neighbours, the family of four were were close-nit. "Like a close-knit family as far as I could tell, and they just stayed to themselves," a neighbour told ABC 7.
